What we do:

School Counselors:

Counselors work with students to develop interpersonal relationships, make informed decisions and develop the ability to explore and plan for careers. Counselors support the learning environment by:

· Meeting in individual sessions with students (see form below).

· Visiting classrooms to facilitate school counseling lessons

· Overseeing CharacterStrong curriculum during MTSS block

· Leading small groups in areas of need

· Collaborating with teachers and staff to identify student needs

· Collaborating with families

· Coordinating enrollment and standardized testing programs

· Facilitating student creation of their own ICAP (Individual Career and Academic Plan)

· Case managing 504 accommodation plans

 

School Community Resource Specialist:

SCRSs help bridge the gap between schools, families, and community organizations to support student success and well-being. SCRSs support the learning environment by:

· Meeting in individual sessions with students

· Leading small groups in areas of need

· Collaborating with teachers and staff to identify student needs

· Collaborating with families

· Supporting student/family access to a variety of needed resources in the community

· Serving as liaison for community agencies

Students that want to talk to a school counselor or school community resource specialist at Antioch may complete the following form. After completing the form, Mrs. Brandt, Mr. Ehrhard, or Mrs. Smith will follow up with you.
